The author proposes an unconventional way of revealing the structure of the potential of objects of various nature and complexity, revealing a specific mathematical regularity of relations between the elements of this structure, called “tectological function”. This regularity establishes a previously unknown quantitative relationship between the potentials of an object, its form and content, and a number of other philosophical categories. Implications of it determine the optimal use of resources according to the criterion of the maximum ratio of potential (quality) of an object to the resources providing its life cycle, which allows us to open a new page of previously impossible calculations of efficiency of creation and use of mathematical models of complex objects, including world and state ergatic systems of management, production, human, labor, art and many others.
